      Charles University, Czech Republic

      Andrey Shukurov is a full professor at the Charles University, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Department of Macromolecular Physics, Prague, Czech Republic, leading the Plasma-Tailored Nanomaterials group. He holds a Ph.D. from the same University and an Ing. from the Ivanovo University of Chemistry and Technology, Russia. Earlier appointments include Scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research, Potsdam, Germany, and the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA; Post-doc at EcoTopia Science Institute, University of Nagoya, Japan; Associate Professor at the Charles University, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. He has over 25 years of expertise in fundamental and applied research on innovative nanomaterials. He has published over 100 refereed journal articles and two book chapters, focusing on nanoparticle (NP) synthesis under vacuum and low-temperature plasma conditions, plasmonic and photoluminescent metal/semiconductor NPs, hybrid mesoporous coatings for photoelectrochemical water splitting and biomedical applications.

      Seunghun Lee received the B.S. and M.S. in nuclear engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. And he received the Ph.D. degree in physics from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Daejeon, Republic of Korea, in 2019. Since 2008, he has been with Korea Institute of Materials Science, Changwon, Republic of Korea, where he is currently a senior researcher. His current research is focused on the ion beam surface treatement for nano-bio applications such as disease and virus sensors. His research area of interest has expanded to the atmoshperic pressure plasma patch for skin therapy. In 2020, he established a company that produces wearable cold plasma patch for cosmetic and medical applications.

      Takehiko Sato is a professor at Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University, Japan. He received Bc and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Tohoku University in 1990 and 1995, and then joined Matsushita Electric Works Co., Ltd. He joined Tohoku University as a research associate in 1998, and he has been a full professor from 2011. He served as a visiting researcher at the Max-Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, Germany in 2005-2006, and a visiting professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland in 2009. His interests are plasma sterilization and cell responses by plasma stimuli. Currently he is promoting the development of compact atmospheric-pressure plasma sterilization device and validating the effect of electrical factors without chemical factors in plasma stimuli on cell response. His interests also focus on gas-liquid plasma flow, propagation mechanism of underwater streamer, generation of fine bubbles by plasma, and plasma-induced cavitation bubble dynamics. He was honored with Best Paper Award of the Japanese Society for Multiphase Flow, Best Paper Award of the Institute of Electrostatics Japan and JSME Medal for Outstanding Paper from Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers. He chaired the International Workshop on Environmental Engineering 2019 (IWEE2019) and 16th International Conference on Flow Dynamics (ICFD2019).
